Info

The real estate industry is one of the most highly regulated consumer facing industries in the country. With buyers and sellers trying to get the best possible results its no wonder that Realtors and Lenders, Home Inspectors and Real Estate Appraisers are always walking around on egg shells.

What does NAR have to say about it?

The National Association of Realtors (NAR) is an industry specific organization that promotes fair and accurate treatment, reporting, and advertising throughout the entire real estate industry. NAR’s Risk Management website tackles various topics concerning:

  • Competition in Real Estate
  • Hot Topics in Broker Risk Reduction
  • Copyright
  • Cybersecurity Checklist: Best Practices for Real Estate
  • Wire Fraud
  • Legal Case Summaries

What to expect in the class?

Our class will go over a laundry list of topics, from recommendations a RealtorĀ® can make, all the way to Local, State, and Federal Laws that impact the day to day business. The aim of this class is not to provide you with legal advice, but rather to assist you in making decisions and determinations regarding the policies and procedures you may want to consider adding to your business manuals. We will not be discussing commissions, or referral fees, however, we will highlight RESPA rules on referrals, as well as compare them with state laws and define best practices with regard to protecting, information and educating the client and consumer in a transparent way.
